GOD'S PLAN FOR WOMEN

TEXT- 1 TIMOTHY 2:9-15

INTRODUCTION

This morning I am going to continue with my series of messages from the book of First Timothy where we have been studying about various aspects of the Lord's church.

In chapter 1 Paul spoke to Timothy about the need for the church to preach the gospel message concerning the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Now in chapters 2 and 3 we are looking at what Paul says concerning the members of the church.

Paul began chapter 2 in verses 1-8 talking about the need for the men in the church to be leaders especially in the area of prayer.

Our text this morning is found in 1 Timothy 2:9-15 and the title of my message is, "God's Plan for Women."

Three men were walking along the beach one day when they came across a container sticking halfway out of the sand. One of the men picked it up and brushed the sand from it and immediately some smoke came out of it and a genie appeared before them. He told the men that each one of them could have one wish. The first man thought real hard thinking about all the things he owned and realized that he had a good job, a beautiful home and a nice car and really didn't need any more possessions. So he told the genie that he wanted to be 10 times smarter than he was now. Waving his hands over the man, the genie declared, "You are now 10 times smarter." Now the second man began thinking about something he could wish for and he too realized that he had a wonderful job, a beautiful home with many rooms and three very expensive cars and really didn't need any more possessions. So he told the genie that he wanted to be 100 times smarter than he was now. Waving his hands over the man, the genie said, "You are now 100 times smarter." Now it was the third man's turn. He had already been thinking about his million dollar a year job, his mansion and car collection and realized he really didn't need any more possessions. So, he told the genie that he wished he was 1000 times smarter than he was now. The genie once again waved his hands over the man and poof, he said "You're a woman."

As we look at what Paul says concerning God's plan for women there are three things I would like us to consider and see how it relates to women today.
