YOUR ATTITUDE AT WORK

Text - 1 Peter 2:18-20

Introduction

This morning we are going to continue with the study we have been doing from the book of First Peter.

Last week we learned from chapter 2:13-17 that it is God's will for the Christian to submit himself to government.

Today our text is found in 1 Peter 2:18-20 and the title of my message is, "Your Attitude At Work".

A young man was looking through the classified section of the paper looking for a job when his eye caught an advertisement which read, "Opportunity of a Lifetime."  He decided to look into the job and found himself being interviewed by the president of the company who was a very nervous individual.  "What I am looking for is somebody to do all my worrying," said the president. "Your job will be to shoulder all my cares."  "That's quite a job," replied the young man.  "How much do I get?"  "You get $40,000 to make every one of my worries, your own," answered the nervous president.  "Where is the $40,000 come from?" inquired the young man.  "Ah," answered the president, "that's your first worry."

Just as the Bible speaks about the Christian's relationship to government, so it speaks about his relationship as an employee to his or her employer.  While Peter may not have used this exact terminology, the principle is the same.

As we examine our text for today, there are three attitudes that we need to at work.
